First Indian VoD channel delivered on Roku in the USA: Junction TV launches Databazaar Media Ventures

Junction TV, the leading provider of over-the-top (OTT) TV platform, has launched the first Indian On-demand movie channel on Roku – the Databazaar Media Ventures (DMV) movie channel.

This is a subscription-based service where viewers pay a monthly fee to get access to all film content. This movie channel brings Bollywood as well as regional Indian content to Roku devices, targeting Indian and other Hindi movie consumers residing in US.

Junction TV is providing the end-to-end cloud based platform hosted in Amazon Web Services (AWS) to empower the on-demand service. The core features of the platform includes video content management, entitlement management system, analytics and subscription management/billing systems.

Announcing the launch today,Mike Shehan,VP of Sales and Business Development at Junction TV said that this launch will be the first time the Indian diaspora in the U.S. is going to have access to Indian VOD content on the Roku devices. The DMV channel sees future in bringing movies to the TV screen for more than 1 million North American Indian households. Junction TV’s app framework made it easy for DMV to launch the channel on Roku without the worries of implementing a new platform.
