Junction TV launches 8M Networks – First Indian TV On-Demand

September 5, 2014

Junction TV launched the first Video-on-Demand service in India for its partner 8M Networks. With a large catalogue of Indian movie and television content, 8MNetworks is poised to make a splash in the Indian market.

Junction TV built a comprehensive SVoD and TVoD service for content delivery for 8MNetworks over its cloud-based delivery platform. A custom android-based Set-Top-Box is the first device to carry the 8MNetworks VoD application. In near future, this service is planned to be launched on other devices.

Discussing the launch of 8MNetworks VoD services, Mike Shehan, VP of Sales and Business Development at Junction TV, said, “Junction TV has repeatedly shown the robustness and flexibility of its solution. With 8MNetworks, we have once again proved that regardless of the constraints of the target environment, we deliver exceptional performance.”

Deploying this solution marks the entry of Junction TV into the large Indian VoD market.
